Samsung Galaxy J5 File Transfer Success

Hello All!

This is actually not a question but a solution. I bought a Samsung Galaxy J5 phone. Unbeknownst to me it is officially "incompatible" with a Macbook Pro.

Finally found this out after spending 5 hours on the phone with various Samsung tech support people. That's criminal I say!!!

After extensive research and trying the various android work around file transfer software for USB transfer e.g., Padnet, Salling, Android File Transfer etc. failed I successfully beat it by using blue tooth.

Here's what I did:

1. Download and install Padnet on both machines

2. Go to System Preferences on your Macbook Pro

3. Select Sharing

4. Check Bluetooth sharing

5. On your Samsung phone open the padnet software and select the Activate Bluetooth Server

6. Go to your Samsung Photo Gallery select the file to share and voila!!!

I hope this helps folks out there!

Cheers

dont upgrade to Yosemite yet!
